Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American sportscaster. Her current role is working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. Since she was nine years old, Collins's capacity to communicate in two languages allowed her to get a job in Miami as an assistant producer for Univision. As an assistant producer she was given the chance to be a part of national show producers, such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg hired her after this as the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel on English at 9 pm and the news anchor was on until 10 pm, and then returned back to the Spanish channel. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. She was also given more accountability. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She worked as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also played the position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually relocated to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She has a sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she was married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she wanted her future to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and enrolled into media school at the college. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she is a member. They formed a strong connection. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence, and his passion for Journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
